Foundation to Award $20,000 to Post Elementary
Post Elementary School to Receive $20,000 from the Lubbock Area Foundation and Scholastic Books
On Friday, September 26th, 2014 at 9:00 am CST, the Lubbock Area Foundation and Scholastic Books will award $20,000 in grants to Post Elementary School for books, supplies and other items lost in the fire and not covered by insurance. Scholastic Books graciously matched one for one the funds provided by the Lubbock Area Foundation. The Lubbock Area Foundation contacted and worked closely with the Post Garza County Endowment Fund Advisory Board an Affiliate of the Lubbock Area Foundation to discuss needed items for the continuation of school activities and learning.
The Post-Garza County Endowment is an Affiliate of the Lubbock Area Foundation provides grants and scholarships to teachers in the Post Garza County area. This vital community endowment provides for funds to social services, arts and culture and mini-grants to teachers. Several representatives from the advisory board will be present along with the Post Elementary School staff, and Post City Officials.
