Community Foundation of West Texas Grants almost $180,000 to Arts & Animal Non-Profit Organizati
The Community Foundation of West Texas is proud to announce the funding of grants to fourteen arts organizations and nine animal organizations totaling $179,714.64! These funds are from several endowments of the Community Foundation: Sybil B. Harrington Endowment for the Arts, the Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals, the Alice Virginia White Endowment for Dogs and Cats, and the Jimmie Nelson Endowment.
These grants are from field of interest funds which exist because donors have a passion for specific interests and organizations that provide services for these specific interests. The Sybil B. Harrington Endowment for the Arts was established to provide opportunities for the growth of the arts community and also assure the availability of diverse cultural experiences for the citizens of Lubbock and Hale counties. The Ruth Wright Endowment for Animals, the Alice Virginia White Endowment for Dogs and Cats, and the Jimmie Nelson Endowment were established for area organizations whose mission is to care for animals that are lost, abandoned or injured.
