CFWT Scholarship Spotlight: Caleb Onzi

Trinity Christian High School grad, Caleb Onzi, is the 2022 Lion Heart Scholarship recipient. Caleb is now taking classes at Abilene Christian University to earn a degree in Biology. As of right now, he is considering becoming either an Optometrist or a Nurse Practitioner. Caleb explains, "growing up at a mission hospital influenced me to pursue a medical career."

Caleb is an international student and grew up at Karanda Mission Hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa. The ACU freshman writes, "I was given the chance to come to Trinity Christian School in Lubbock for my high school years to seek out better educational opportunities than what was available to me in Zimbabwe. I have really enjoyed my time in Lubbock and appreciate the amazing education I received at TCS over the past four years. While at Trinity, I was able to participate in five different sports, build community with my classmates and teachers, deepen my faith in the Lord, and learned countless things in my classes that will be helpful for me in college."

Some of Caleb's awards and accomplishments while at TCS include triple jump state champion, all-state cross country, Geometry and Spanish II honors, and academic excellence in English Language Learners. Caleb volunteers at Lubbock Dream Center, High Point Village, and the Redeemer Church Kids program. Caleb likes to play the drums, sports, go fishing, and spend time with family in his spare time.
